Men's Club Tournament Descriptions
2-Man Best Ball Championship:
This is a 36-hole gross/net event. Please see Best Ball format.
2-Man Ryder Cup:
Each team consists of two players. This is an 18-hole gross/net event. The format will include a modified alternate shot the first 6 holes, scramble the next 6 holes and two-man best ball format the final six holes.
Modified Alternate shot- On each hole, each team member drives and the best drive is selected. The player who’s drive was not selected will play the second shot. Shots will be alternated until the hole is completed. This modification is to keep up the pace of play.
4-Man Best Ball Championship:
This is a 36-hole gross/net event. Please see Best Ball format.
4-Club:
Each player will strategically select four golf clubs from their bag and proceed to play the entire 18 holes with only those clubs. This is an individual gross and net event. Gross hole-by-hole score is recorded and an 18 hole total added. At the completion of the round, each player's full handicap is deducted from the gross total for the net score. (back to top)
Alternate Shot:
This is a great test of golf and of your relationship with your partner. We will use a Modified Alternate Shot format in that both players will hit their drives. It’s strategy from that point as you will alternate shots from therein until holed. If your drive is selected, your partner will hit the next shot. The best drive position or the best approach player will be the decision at hand. We are requiring a minimum of 6 tee shots from each partner during the 18 holes though. Flights will be determined by team combined handicaps, and teams will have a minimum combined handicap, at this point we believe to be 8. It is best not to score how many times you apologize to your partner.
Best Ball (2-Man or 4-Man):
Each player on the team plays his own ball throughout the round and on each hole the low score – or “best ball”of the group serves as the team score. These tournaments will be conducted on a gross and net basis.
Blind Partner:
Play your round as you normally do and with who ever you want. A partner will be randomly drawn by the computer for you. Your cards will be matched and scored as a two ball best ball. Payouts will be both gross and net. Your partner will be disclosed in the results so you can buy him a drink when his scoring elevates your mediocre round to the winners list. (back to top)
Cha Cha Cha:
A variation of the Progressive 4 Ball. In the 4 Man Cha Cha Cha tournament format, each member of the team plays his ball throughout. But a 3 hole rotation exists for determining how many scores are used to create the team score. On the first hole (cha), the one low ball counts as the team score. On the second hole (cha cha), the two low balls count as the team score. On the third hole (cha cha cha), the three low ball scores count as the team scores. This cycle continues throughout the 18 holes. The purpose of this format is to keep players in the game, rather than in their pocket. The pressure is on for more than just your team horse.
Club and Flight Championships:
This is an individual gross only event. Scoring is by designated flights,(e.g. Championship, A, B, C, D). The Club and Flight Championships are a 54-hole event and members will be required to commit to all three days when signing up for the event. All flights will play from the white tees, except the Championship flight, which will be played from the blue tees. Any member can play in the Championship Flight, if they declare to do so prior to the start of the tournament. However, their score will only be eligible in the Championship Flight, not in their respective handicap flight. Members must play 5 Men’s Club rounds prior to the Club Championship in order to be eligible.
Fall Classic Championship:
This is a 36-hole gross/net event. The format will include a scramble the first 18 holes and two-man best ball format the second 18 holes. (back to top)
Fathers Day Classic:
(2-Man Scramble) Each team consist of two players. On each hole, each team member drives and the best drive is selected. Each team member plays a second shot from the spot where the selected drive lies and the best second shot is selected. The process is repeated until the hole is completed. The hole is completed when the ball enters the cup, therefore do not putt out unless your team members have putted.
This event will feature the "bring a relative" option. The intent is to have fathers playing with their sons or daughters and to promote Junior Golf as the future of the game. To facilitate this, each two-person team will consist of one member and either their Father, Grandfather, Son or Daughter or Grandchild. The Minimum age for the child is 10. The event will be divided by three age categories: child age 10-13, age 14-17, age 18 and over.
Hate 'em:
This is a variation of an Individual gross/net event in which you pre-select on the 1st tee, 3 holes that always give you trouble. A par will be recorded by the starter on those three holes. The other fifteen you will still have to work for. For the purpose of your Ringers score should you be in the Ringers event, if you actually make birdie on any of the 3 pre-selected holes, it will be counted on your Ringers score but the pre-selected par will be used for the weekend tournament. Choose wisely and you should have 3 net birds or eagles before you even hit the ball. (back to top)

A second line of the card should contain the player's points by hole, based on the gross score. Add handicap to total points for net scoring.
Points are scored as follows:
Double Bogey or higher: -1 Points
Bogey 1 Points
Par: 2 Points
Birdie: 3 Points
Eagle: 5 Points
Double Eagle: 10 Points
Team Match Play Championship:

The best 31 teams in relation to par will qualify. The defending team champions are automatically qualified. (back to top)
Whack and Hack:
This is a 4 Man Ball Best Ball event where the team score is comprised of the lowest and highest individual scores recorded for that hole, combined together to create the team score for the hole. The purpose for this format, is to keep all players in the foursome involved in doing their best for the team. All four players scores should be recorded on each hole as net players scores may vary from the gross players scores.
Yellow Ball:
This is a 4 Man Ball Best Ball event. In this game, two score per hole are added together for the team score. Here’s the catch: One of the two scores must be from the player with the yellow ball. So on each hole, the team score will be the score of the player with the yellow ball, plus the lowest score of the other three players on the team. Does the ball actually have to be yellow? Of course note, but the ball should be marked in some way to designate it as “the” ball. The yellow ball rotates through the team (i.e. player A’s score must count on holes 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, and 16, player B’s score must count on holes 2, 5, 8, 11, 14 and 17, etc.) All four players’ scores should be recorded on each hole for handicapping purposes.
